Programme Module:

 

 

Module 1: Introduction to English - 1hr

To acclimatize students with the world of English. Getting to know each other and bonding with the faculty to make the learning experience enriching.

 

Module-2: Self Introduction – 2hrs

To make people comfortable and to make them know how to introduce themselves. Making them to introduce them before the class covering topics.

 

Module-3: About my family – 2hrs

To make them familiar with relationships and jobs. Asking them to speak about their families covering Relations, Occupation and necessary adjectives.

 

 

Module-4: New word - 2hrs

To make them familiar with vocabulary

Newspaper/article reading.

 

Module-5: Pronouns - 2hrs

To help students learn about pronouns

•        Personal pronouns

o   it and there

o   you and they

•        Possessive pronouns (see possessives: - pronouns)

o   this, that, these and those

o   one and ones

•        Reflexive pronouns

•        Reciprocal pronouns: each other and one another

•        Indefinite pronouns

•        Relative pronouns

 

Incorporating story /article depicting usage of pronouns.

 

Module-6: Determiners and quantifiers - 2hrs

To enable students learn about determiners.

Determiners are words which come at the beginning of the noun phrase. They tell us whether the noun phrase is specific or general.

 

Determiners are either specific or general

 

The specific determiners are:

•        The definite article: the

•        Possessives: my, your, his, her, its; our, their, whose

•        Demonstratives: this, that, these, those

•        Interrogatives: which

 

General determiners:

          The general determiners are: a; an; any; another; other; what

 

Quantifiers

•        We use quantifiers when we want to give someone information about the           number of something: how much or how many.

 

Incorporating story /article depicting usage of determiners.

Showcase of myriad concept related presentations and reading out articles and stories

 

Module-10: Be-Forms-2hrs

 

Theoretical 1st Person, 2nd Person &3rd Person. The forms of the verb "to be"

 

 

 

Module-11: Common conjunctions - 2hrs

 

•        Contrast clauses-although; though; even though; while;

•        Reason clauses-because; since; as

•        Place clauses-where; wherever; everywhere

•        Purpose clauses-so that; so; because + want

•        Result clauses-so that; so … that; such … that

•        Time clauses-when; before; after; since; while; as; as soon

•        Conditional clauses-if; unless; provided (that); as long as; by the time; until

 

Module-12: Adjectives - 2hrs

 

•        Adjectives: - ed and -ing

•        Order of adjectives

•        Comparative and superlative adjectives

•        Intensifiers

•        Mitigators

•        Noun modifiers

 

Module-13: Nouns - 2hrs

 

•        Countable nouns

•        Uncountable nouns

•        Common problems with countable/uncountable nouns

•        Proper nouns

 

 

Module-14: Clause, phrase and sentence-2hrs

 

•        Clause structure

•        Verb patterns

•        Noun phrase

•        Verb phrase

•        Adverbial phrases

•        Prepositional phrases

•        Sentence structure

•        Adjective phrases

 

Module 15: Word building - Vocabulary - 2hrs

 

To improve their vocabulary in an interesting way. 

 

 

 

 

Module 16: Role Play - 2hrs

 

Students work in pairs or groups of three to develop and rehearse a short role play with three scenes, based on the information given to them on the handout, which is then performed to the rest of the class. They have to include the title of the outline somewhere in their role play, e.g. Family role play

 

• Scene 1: Setting up the situation

• Scene 2: Action

• Scene 3: Result 

To make them able to communicate with people in different situations.

Students will be paired up in twos and will be given different topic to enact role plays.

 

Module 17: Conversation test - 2hrs.

 

Informal Conversation Test.

 

Module 18: Buying& selling - 2hrs

 

To teach them how to communicate effectively while buying and selling goods and improve negotiation skills. Students will be paired up in two groups and will be asked to act as customer and seller where one group has to sell typical products to the others.

 

Module 19 & 20: Group Discussion - 2hrs

 

Make them know how to interact within a group, acquainting them to group culture, assessment of one’s awareness, logical thinking and critical reasons. An interactive session on what Group Discussions are all about followed by a series of Mock Group Discussions along with immediate feedback on the performance both by the group and individuals.

 

Module 20 & 21 Giving Directions and instructions - 2hrs

 

To teach them how to give directions and to use prepositions. The students will be divided into groups and will be asked to draw their village map in a big chart and questions will be posed to students and all the students will be asked to give the directions to reach their home seeing the map.

 

Module 22: Creative Story telling - 2hrs

Students need to narrate a story using all tenses.

 

 

Module 23: Profile delivery -2hrs

To make students adept in delivering profile about themselves confidently.

 

Module 24: Conversation with clients -2hrs

 

Varied situations related to managing clients will be discussed in depth.

 

Module 25: Telephonic conversation – with clients-2hrs

 

Varied situations related to telephonic conversations with clients will be discussed in depth.

 

Module 26: Mock test -Role play-2hrs

 

Situations will be provided to students to speak about.

 

Module 27: Advertisement-2hrs

 

Advertising their product by using props.

 

Module 28: Image building-2hrs

 

Building life skills which will be useful for them to conduct themselves confidently in their profession and society.

 

Module 29: Personality development-2hrs

 

Personality development tenets to be discussed.

 

Module 30: News delivery-2hrs

Methodology:

He has total 33 years vide and experience in the field of indirect taxation.

He worked with Gujarat State Fertilizers and Chemicals Limited, Vadodara for over 23 years as a Head of Indirect Tax Department. He was Corporate Head of the function for 10 years.

After that He Joined Reliance Industries Limited, Vadodara (formally known as IPCL) as Head of Indirect Taxation and worked as an Assistant Vice President for over 10 years.

He holds Post Graduate Degree in Economics and has also successfully completed one year Post Graduate Course in Marketing Management from MSU.
